The Role
Key responsibilities
- Align Hive’s product strategy with the overall business strategy
- Shape the product roadmap through a deep understanding of our space and customer needs
- Define and evolve Hive’s product management philosophy—improving our product team’s effectiveness and efficiency
- Manage and grow a small team of Product and Design professionals
- Identify customer problems—making sure our product decisions are informed and data-driven
- Define, clarify and review key product objectives as we improve our existing product and launch in new areas
- Help to solve complex business problems, bring people together and deliver user-friendly products that meet customer needs
- Be the voice of the customer and embed strong customer research practices
- Make sure our product meets key regulatory, compliance, data and security requirements
- Select and manage third party tools and vendors as part of the Product Management stack
Requirements
Necessary:
- Experience in product management with relevant experience in owning growth areas in a B2B SaaS start-up/scale-up.
- A strategic product thinker with a passion for and track record of building and shipping exceptional software products with strong user experience and high-quality design.
- An interest in management but with the drive to continue owning product decisions.
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Comfortable presenting to the Product team, senior leaders and the wider business
- Experience and understanding of UX design practices and principles
- Analytical and experimentation muscle—you should know when to and when not to experiment,
- An ability to act as a sounding board to the Product team and other stakeholders
- Excellent problem-solving skills and an ability to apply rigorous analytical thinking to ambiguous business problems
- A desire to work cross-functionally and build strong partnership with stakeholders from multiple departments—particularly design and engineering
- An ability to both operate at high strategic levels as well as dive into the details when needed in complex or ambiguous problem areas
Desirable:
- Experience of working in a SaaS business with a professional services proposition
- Experience in the HR tech space
