The overview

When Enginuity set out to revamp their approach to employee voice, they knew they needed a platform that went beyond collecting data—they needed a solution that empowered managers, improved trust, and created real impact.

Having worked with Hive before, Enginuity’s People Director knew who to turn to. This partnership has helped them achieve remarkable improvements in employee engagement and alignment across the organisation.

What brought them to Hive

When Alison Corner, People Director at Enginuity, joined the team, she brought Hive into the conversation.

“I’d come across Hive in a previous role and loved how accessible it was and the level of detail it offered. So, when I joined Enginuity and we were ready to rethink employee engagement, Hive came to mind.”

At the time, Enginuity wasn’t using engagement surveys effectively. Their old platform asked weekly random questions, but employees didn’t trust the process, and there was no clear strategy for turning feedback into meaningful change.

Hive offered a fresh start—a platform that provided real insights to help positively impact engagement across the business while equipping managers with the tools to take action. It wasn’t just about understanding employee sentiment.

Unlocking insights with Hive's user-friendly features

“What I love about Hive is how easy it is to use. Hive gives us the support but it’s owned by us in terms of how we use the platform.” Alison explained.

“We can build our own surveys, and the People Science team is there to help us make sure we’re asking the right questions to truly understand our people.”

Hive’s flexibility was key for Enginuity. “Unlike other platforms with set questions, Hive lets us adapt our surveys to meet our needs at any given time,” Alison said. “That’s been crucial in allowing us to stay agile and responsive to our people’s feedback.”

Giving managers the insights to drive change in their teams

A key shift at Enginuity was empowering managers to take direct ownership of their teams’ engagement by sharing results at a more granular level than previously, so that local action plans can be developed.

“Heads of Departments now have access to the platform and can own their team’s engagement. It’s no longer just an HR tool—it’s about giving managers the tools to make real changes.”

With Hive, Enginuity tracks a wellbeing and inclusion index, enabling managers to identify seasonal trends and take timely actions. This approach has enhanced employee satisfaction and driven meaningful results as shown in their outstanding increase in eNPS.

The platform’s transparency has also sparked richer conversations.

“Now managers are having regular check-ins about how their teams are feeling about work, and what can be improved. The data is driving those conversations and helping managers take action.”

Transparency and trust

One of the biggest differences is the trust and transparency Hive has fostered.

“Employees are more bought into the process of giving feedback because they’re seeing changes made, and because they know it’s confidential.”

We’re really open with colleagues about why we’re using Hive and how it helps us listen to them. Even if we can’t act on something, we explain why—and that’s made employees much more engaged with the process.”

They’ve also introduced initiatives like Employee Voice Forums, giving colleagues more ways to share feedback, and adopted a “You Said, We Did” approach to show employees how their input led to real changes.

These changes weren’t just cultural—they were measurable:

Looking ahead

As Enginuity continues to grow, their partnership with Hive will be critical in maintaining high levels of engagement and trust.

“We’re expanding fast, and as we grow, Hive will help us ensure our people stay motivated and connected to the business. The support we get from Hive’s team, plus the new features being added, makes it feel like a true partnership.”

Alison Corner, People Director at Enginuity

“It’s a pleasure to be part of Enginuity’s journey to create a better workplace. Working with organisations that value employee voice and are seeing results is truly rewarding. I’m excited to see what’s next as our partnership grows.”
